And suddenly news broke that The Family Stand would play in Heerhugowaard. Following their beautiful Moon In Scorpio album things had quieted down surrounding this fantastic band and they subsequently quit. They reconvened in 2006, in 2007 followed by a tour and album (Super Sol Nova). The day after this show they played to a sold-out Paradiso. Upon entering the venue we sensed something wasn’t quite right. The room held about 20 to 25 people. Had it been canceled, were we in the wrong room? No, this was the audience for the evening! The band didn’t show anything and played a full set and played for nearly 2 hours straight. Previously, I had only experienced concerts this intimate when visting obscure punk bands (Tröckener Kecks in Wognum). A very special evening!
