Unfortunately, it didn’t become a legendary Waterboys night. No saxophone, no violin, but steady rhythm and blues, where the aforementioned instruments were mimicked by a keytar. Not a very good idea. Another idea that wasn’t too great: an intermission of no less than 25 minutes halfway through the show. It had lasted quite some time for the concert to gain some steam, and the intermission had vaporized the momentum for good.
A shame really, because some performances were beautiful. This Is The Sea in particular, was truly impressive. Mike Scott was in fine voice and high spirits. To no avail.
