Introduction
On June 29th, 2022, I received a mail coming from this blog’s Contact page. Leon Polman, editor for Dutch broadcasting company BNNVARA had read my blog, and the story 30 years ago, the best show I ever witnessed (or the updated version Prince & The Revolution overwhelm The Netherlands). He asked me if I was willing to talk about the best Prince show on national radio, and to be interviewed by Dutch radio giant Felix Meurders.
Preceding
“Should I, could I?” I was in a bit of doubt, as there’s a reason I write and don’t do podcasts and/or vlogs. “Of course you should”, said Zühâl, so I decided to listen and accept the offer.
A day prior to the interview, me and Leon Polman prepared the interview and the questions. He told me that my interview would be the first in a (hopefully) long line of interviews with listeners who shared their story about their favorite concerts.

After phoning in, I was live in the broadcast and was interviewed by Felix Meurders, one the major radio programmers in the history of Dutch radio, in his show FM op 5. Unfortunately, I was ill that day, but I was determined to go through with the interview. It’s quite remarkable to notice the tension it generated, but I truly felt honored and the experience was great. For all interested readers, listen to the (Dutch!) interview below.
