On October 17th, 1986, Prince announced he disbanded The Revolution and wanted to make music on his own again. Very unexpected news, because the trilogy he had made with The Revolution (Purple Rain, Around The World In A Day and Parade) were otherworldy. Everything would work out, especially with Prince and the level of his output.
One of the consequences was that the two most recognizable Revolution members would start making music together. At the time of the show Wendy & Lisa had released the albums Wendy & Lisa and Fruit At The Bottom (my personal favorite Eroica would follow a year later). Waterfall in particular is one of my all time favorite songs. The show was organized on the Dutch Queen’s Day (30th of April was Sunday, so the day was moved to the 29th).
