Japanese composer, musician, arranger, producer and actor. Co-founder of the highly influential Yellow Magic Orchestra. Worked with artists like David Sylvian, David Byrne, David Bowie, Adrian Belew, Thomas Dolby, Iggy Pop, Youssou N’Dour and Jill Jones. He also composed many soundtracks for movies like Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, The Last Emperor and The Revenant, leaving him with many (international) awards. He was a long lasting successful solo artist throughout his entire career

    Looking for more on Ryuichi, I just ran across your article and his role in the PiL Album. Always an impressive performer, and a fine article about the album … will be checking in more often.
