The Fatal Flowers – Younger Days Festival Tour

Review

Following their successful reunion tour in 2019, The Fatal Flowers, the greatest Dutch rock band of all time, reunited once again in 2026 for the Younger Days Festival Tour. Both the audience response and the band’s chemistry on stage were so encouraging that they decided to spend a week in the studio in early September 2026 recording new material. A seven-date club tour was also announced. On September 23, 2026, the band officially announced the new EP.

New music from The Fatal Flowers!

On October 23, the EP SEVEN DAYS TO REMEMBER will be released on 10-inch vinyl and across streaming platforms.

During rehearsals, probably after a few beers, the band came up with an unusual challenge: head into the studio with a few ideas and come back a week later with a fully recorded and mixed EP. Together with their friend, live band member, and producer JB Meijers, they decided to do things the old-fashioned way: enter the studio on Monday and have a new record ready the following week.

In a relaxed atmosphere, eight songs were recorded and mixed in just seven days: six brand-new tracks, a new version of a Flowers classic, and a cover.

The EP arrives just ahead of the SEVEN DAYS TO REMEMBER TOUR, which will see the band play seven shows across the Netherlands, wrapping up on November 6 at a sold-out Paradiso.

The single ‘All The Time’ will be released digitally on October 2.

The EP is available to order from your favorite record store starting today. Of course, it’ll also be on sale at the shows during the tour!

The Fatal Flowers – All The Time

On October 2, the single All The Time was released on streaming platforms. It’s a laid-back, easygoing track. The band may not rock out quite like they did in the old days, but they still sound unmistakably like The Fatal Flowers.

On October 20, an interview with singer Richard Janssen appeared in a Dutch newspaper under the headline Fatal Flowers: Older and Better. Among other things, he said: “The fun is back. We’re forty years older, admittedly, but we’re better than ever.”

So, is Richard Janssen right? As it turns out, he’s pretty much spot on. The EP’s laid-back vibe works beautifully. All the songs have a certain urgency and feel genuine and heartfelt. The newly recorded version of There Were Times, originally from the wonderful Johnny D. Is Back!, almost sounds better than the original, which is quite an achievement!

Despite the EP’s relaxed character, tracks like I’m Alright Now, ShowTime, and the beautiful Phil Ochs cover When I’m Gone really sparkle. In the interview mentioned earlier, Janssen says, “I’m definitely too old. That’s how I see it.” But judging by what the band delivers here, they’ve still got plenty of life left in them. A very welcome addition to their existing body of work!

Back Cover

The following text appears on the back cover.

In the eighties everyone in Holland seemed to have an opinion about The Fatal Flowers.
In 1990 they split up, leaving everyone with an opinion about why.
In 2026, they decided to go on the road again for a seven-day stretch of live shows, calling it Seven Days To Remember.
During rehearsals, probably after a few beers, someone came up with a challenge: why not book a studio, invite their friend and producer JB Meijers, and make a record the old-fashioned way? Get in on a Monday with a few ideas and get out the following Monday with a fully recorded and mixed eight song-EP.
Knowing one thing for sure, one way or another, it would be Seven Days To Remember.

Challenge accepted.
