Each year Dutch radio listeners compile a list known as the Top2000, a list of 2000 songs that the listeners see as the best ever. On average, some 6 or 7 million lists are compiled and sent in. There are no real rules: all songs are welcome, the number of songs per artists is no issue, just as long as the same song doesn’t enter the same list more than once. The max number of songs that can be entered is 35.
From 2020 onwards me and some colleagues organize our own localized version of the Top2000. From then on out I have sent in my list as well. My list differs every year, with the exception of the number 1 position.
