In memoriam: Lee “Scratch” Perry 1936-2021
40 years ago Junior Murvin released the album Police & Thieves. The single carrying the same name became an anthem against police brutality in England and was combined with punk.
In 1977 Lee “Scratch” Perry made one his masterpieces at his Black Ark Studio in Jamaica: Heart Of The Congos, a beautiful roots reggae album. A retrospective view.
