What a night this was! New Order played with conviction and thrilled several times. Highlights abound: Age Of Consent and Ceremony came early into the show, quickly followed by Your Silent Face and Sub-culture. Plastic was a Kraftwerk-like highlight, complete with Autobahn projections. The closing song of the regular set was a sizzling, loud and tight Temptation. Exquisite.
During the show Joy Division had already been given its due, but the encores were entirely geared to New Order’s origins. Decades moved to the core of your being, which could have been enough, but New Order played a truly exciting version of Transmission, closing the show with Love Will Tear Us Apart.
The last time I saw New Order was really, really good, but this surpassed that one. An unforgettable night, that I got to witness with my eldest son and, thanks to the VIP package, left me with a great A3 artwork!
