5/5: Kendrick Lamar brought his DAMN. tour to Europe. Could he live up to all the expectations? Yes, seemingly effortless. King Kendrick!

4/5: Great show by a band I hardly knew anything by. Impressive what these two women present. Electronic and analogue drums (Cuban percussion cajón and batádrums). Nice closing to the concert year of 2017. The support act (IDER) was very nice. Top evening!

Spoon, 11/10/2017
3/5: Spoon wasn’t really convincing at Paradiso. Halfway through the band had lost me completely. But when the fire did shine through, they were wonderful. Expected way more.

Tales Of Anatolia, 10/22/2017
2/5: A somewhat unfortunate combination. Zara, a Turkish singer, with Trilok Gurtu, an Indian drummer. Beautiful musical intermezzo’s, at times exciting.

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, 10/13/2017
5/5: Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds are the top of music as art. This evening they proved it yet again. Cave is 60 years old, but is still as convincing and possessed as ever. Magical evening!

LCD Soundsystem, 09/12/2017
5/5: Concert of the year? It seems like it. LCD Soundsystem tore the Paradiso down with a perfect mix of old and new. What a band!

Metallica, 09/06/2017
4/5: Tight show by Metallica. Impressive visuals and high level musicianship. Happy to finally have seen Metallica.

U2, 07/29/2017
3½/5: The end could have been different/better, but The Joshua Tree performance was great. One Tree Hill was impressive!

North Sea Jazz Festival, 07/09/2017
4/5: Day 3 of North Sea Jazz 2017: New Power Generation and karaoke-Prince. And the great Jacob Collier and 77 (!) year old Mavis Staples.

North Sea Jazz Festival, 07/08/2017
4/5: Day 2 of North Sea Jazz 2017: Noname, Gladys Knight and Pink Oculus. But the leader of the pack was Solange. What a great show!
